Entertainment Career

Get ready to dive into the vibrant world of entertainment with Alexi Gonzalez! With over a decade of hands-on production experience and creative leadership, Alexi has left an indelible mark on the industry. She made waves by directing an episode for Netflix's top-ranked show of 2018, "On My Block," at just 24 years old, having previously served as Associate Producer/Story Consultant for three seasons.

Alexi's journey began in the desert suburbs of Southern California and the lush neighborhoods of Orlando, Florida, where her passion for storytelling took flight at a young age. Her cinematic debut was at New York City's iconic Lincoln Center, where one of her earliest short films premiered when she was just 15 years old. Following her passion for storytelling, Alexi's next short film, "Abby Normal," premiered at The LACMA Bing Theatre in Los Angeles, followed by "Demon's Gate," which premiered at the Hammer Museum, hosted by acclaimed writer-director David O. Russell and 21st Century Fox Chairman Jim Gianopulos. Shot entirely in Japanese in Tokyo, Japan, "Demon's Gate" boasted a predominantly female cast and crew, showcasing Alexi's commitment to diverse and inclusive storytelling. Her dedication to representation doesn't stop there. Alexi had the honor of securing the Woman In Film Involve Grant to bring to life a proof of concept for the comedy sci-fi TV series she developed, "SLICE," which also hired an all-women and non-binary crew.

Driven by a passion for storytelling excellence, Alexi sharpened her skills at the Warner Brothers Directing in Television Workshop, setting the stage for her dynamic career trajectory. With thoughtful and long-standing mentors such as Director and Academy Member Carlos Lopez Estrada, and Showrunner Lauren Iungerich, Alexi had the opportunity to shadow and gain a clear vision of the entertainment business landscape. Her versatility shines through as she navigates various mediums, from writing for a Crypt TV anthology series to directing digital content for Netflix. Notably, her directorial collaboration with Kingdom of Pavement birthed captivating projects in the narrative podcast space, including the chilling 10-episode HP Lovecraft-based horror series, "Horror at Martin's Beach."

And now, Alexi is breaking new ground in the world of stand-up comedy as both a performer and producer. Her recent triumph, "Puff Puff Laugh," presented at the largest nomad gathering in the country, Skooliepalooza, offered the fun challenge of coordinating a live two-hour comedy show off-grid in the desert of Arizona. With the talent of stellar comics traveling in from Los Angeles and Phoenix and musical guest CJ Rislove, as seen on American Idol, the show was a resounding success, drawing over 100 attendees and igniting joyous moments under the stars.
